36/3B Facade
A built facade in Kutch, Gujarat — recycled PVC pipes screening harsh southern sun while keeping ventilation, visibility and cost low.

Built project in Adipur, Kutch region of Gujarat, India — mixed-use shops and housing in a hot arid climate (28°C–48°C).
The brief was simple: block harsh southern sun, allow ventilation, and make an aesthetically pleasing facade with minimum expenditure.
Material — recycled PVC pipes + PVC panels. A dynamic skin of 2,360 black cylindrical PVC pipes grafted onto CNC’d aluminium composite panels acts as a porous membrane: it breathes and ventilates, cuts direct southern radiation, and keeps openings visible. A simplified Grasshopper script drove design and fabrication.
